Leadership Speaker

Throughout his career as a professional basketball player in the NBA, as well as in his career as a leadership speaker, Mark has learned the importance of being a strong and effective leader. Leaders facilitate communication, cooperation, innovation, and motivation. While a team is only equal to the sum of all of its parts, it’s crucial that the team is being properly and effectively directed.

From his years in the NBA, Mark can certainly acknowledge that all teams must draw on the strength of each individual member in order to be successful. However, if the team is not being pushed in the right direction or motivated to work together they will never reach their full potential. As a leadership speaker Mark teaches industry leaders how to get their team members to work together and communicate in a productive and profitable fashion.

Mark Eaton speaks on safety to a group of rapt conference attendeesThere Are Different Methods of Motivating Your Team

It is key to understand that every member of your team is an individual and therefore is motivated in their own personal way. For some it may work to give a rousing speech while others would prefer to simply be handed a task with parameters and then be left alone. As a leadership speaker, Mark shows you how to identify how each member of your team is motivated to do his or her best work.

Finding out how to motivate your team members is only half the battle. Once you find out which method is best for engaging and incorporating the individuals you are trying to lead, you must then learn how push their buttons in the correct way so they can execute! As a leadership speaker, Mark uses his experience on the court, in the boardroom, and in the office to show corporate leaders how to motivate their team members in the best way possible.

Communication is Key

In order to motivate and inspire members of a corporation or group, it’s important for leaders to be able to communicate effectively. Being in the NBA taught Mark how to communicate with many different types of personalities. This ability translates well in his career as a leadership speaker where he teaches corporations and their leaders how to learn this skill.

Speaking to Your Team

As a leader it is important to communicate clearly with your team in a manner that is assertive but not demeaning. This gives them a sense of empowerment and purpose. Mark shows you and your company’s leaders how to do this through his speaking program as a leadership speaker.

It happens on professional sports teams. It can happen in business, in your business. Teamwork is not a luxury. In the world of professional sports, if there is no teamwork, you lose.
