Motivational Speaker
There is no hiding Mark Eaton’s height and presence when he enters a room. At seven feet four inches tall most people naturally assume he played basketball. What many don’t know is that Mark only played 3 minutes in his entire high school basketball career. He hated basketball. As a motivational speaker, Mark talks about how he made an unusual journey. He was a 21-year-old auto mechanic who couldn’t play basketball who became an NBA All-Star.
Some know people know Mark was named NBA defensive player of the year (twice!) and a former NBA All-Star. Most probably don’t know that after high school Mark wanted nothing to do with basketball whatsoever. Being a motivational speaker allows Mark to share his personal story of growth and commitment .
Success is a Commitment
Looking back, Mark says he never would have dreamed he would go from never wanting to see another basketball to becoming an All-Star. He attributes his personal success to commitment, passion for hard work, communication, and team success. These characteristics and more are what helped Mark achieve high goals both as an athlete and as a motivational speaker. These are also some of the topics he shares in his inspiring talks and breakout sessions.
In professional athletics, the most prosperous athletes are the ones who are in the gym before the lights turn on and who refuse to leave before the job is done.
In the world of sports that job is to improve at your craft. As a motivational speaker, it is Mark’s job to show corporate teams that this same principle applies to the boardroom and the office.
The workplace may be different but the principles still apply. Few things look better to a boss than an employee who works longer and harder than the bare minimum. Being a motivational speaker allows Mark to spread this principle to corporations and their influential members.
Speaking to Your Team
The principle of hard work is what helped Mark achieve the highest level of prosperity his NBA and speaking careers. While sitting at the end of the bench at UCLA, Mark continued to work on his skills every day. When the time was right, he was skilled enough to try out for the NBA.
As a motivational speaker, he works around the clock to keep his speaking skills honed at all times. These skills allow him to teach others how to:
- consistently play at the top of their game,
- how to build the trust and loyalty,
- and the secret to establishing an inspiring, energizing, and harmonious work environment.
